The Bible Says & We Believe

"What people choose to believe is not near as important as what the bible actually says." - Pastor Thomas Ussery

Doctrines of the Bible

Many churches focus on their beliefs, differentiating between themselves and other Christian churches and often pitting one scripture against another. LifePoint strives to deliver the Biblical doctrines taught to the New Testament Church by Jesus' apostles.

God

The Bible states in the Old Testament that there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4 ). The Bible states in the New Testament gospel of John that God was manifest in flesh "and dwelt among us" (John 1:14). Paul makes sure that the Church didn't recognize Jesus as a separate being but rather "Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation" (Colossians 1:15 NLT)

Repentance

Jesus went to the cross that we might have forgiveness of sins. A repentant (to turn away or about face) life is the necessary turning away from a sinful life in favor of following after the teachings of Jesus. LifePoint strives to follow Jesus' teachings as he "said unto them, thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."
(Luke 46-48 KJV)

Baptism

Jesus teaches us that "entering into the kingdom of God" is accomplish by Water Baptism and Baptism of the Spirit. (John 3). He gives his apostles what we call the great commission in Matthew 28:19, instructing them to teach ALL nations (all people) and to baptize those people in the "name of the father, and of the son and of the Holy Ghost." The apostles accomplished Jesus' directive in Acts 2:38 by baptizing (immersing in water) in the "name of Jesus Christ", in Acts 10 by baptizing them "in the name of the Lord", and in Acts 19 "when they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus." Therefore LifePoint baptizes ALL people in the NAME of JESUS!

Holy Ghost / SPirit

Jesus teaches us that "entering into the kingdom of God" is accomplish by Water Baptism and Baptism of the Spirit. (John 3). He gives his apostles instructions in Mark 16 that "these signs shall follow them that believe...they shall speak with new tongues." Then while his apostles were gathered together in Acts 2 "they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." The experience of receiving the Holy Spirit with the sign of speaking in tongues wasn't just for those apostles, but Peter teaches that "the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." (Acts 2: 39) LifePoint believes you and your children should have a church that believes and experiences the baptism of the Spirit.

Holiness

The Bible teaches that we should live peaceably with all men and live holy, and without this lifestyle, "no man shall see the Lord:" (Hebrews 12: 14) Holiness is a transformation of the believers life to reflect Jesus. The Bible teaches that we should be holy because God is holy. This will change the follower of Jesus on the inside and outside (Fruits of the Spirit), manner of conversation, dress, interactions with bosses, government, and your neighbors. LifePoint endeavors to teach, preach and live according to the Bible and the transformation that Jesus' Spirit brings into our lives.
